All jewellery smithed by Arnold & Co. uses ethically sourced materials. This means the precious metals and stones used in our jewellery are involved in territorial conflicts and come from environmentally responsible suppliers who are committed to the minimisation of environmental impact. Where possible, a preference is also given to Australian origin metals and gem stones.
Every customer of Arnold & Co. should be confident and happy knowing that the symbol of their love is created with materials that do their symbolic purpose justice.
In the 18th century, English preeminent watchmaker John Arnold was granted a once in a lifetime opportunity. He had obtained permission to present one of his handmade timepieces to King George III. The king was so deeply impressed by his masterful work, that he requested Arnold make another, but this time, fit for a king.
Seeing this second opportunity for what it was, John Arnold focused to deliver a masterwork. A brilliantly jewelled gold watch with a stone cylinder made of rubies and sapphires. This watch, gifted to the king, cemented his reputation as a renowned watchmaker in England.
John Arnold’s sons continued this legacy, producing some of the finest handmade timepieces of the 19th century. As the demand for luxury watches grew, they transformed into symbols of status, made of precious metals and adorned with jewels. By the 20th century, the first master jewellers of the Arnold family emerged, carrying over the same reputation of quality and precision into the art of jewellery smithing.
Today, while humbler than their 18th century roots, Arnold & Co. Jewellers honours this heritage in Australia, offering ethically sourced, custom made and master crafted jewellery of unparalleled quality.
Having your jewellery created with Arnold & Co. is not just to seek the very best in jewellery smithing, but also to share in a continuing story of excellence and artisanal history.
